The Second 'Training' Session...

We had our second 'training' session today - which basically involved Katie getting the bus to Milford to meet Amy (after she'd finished her Pre-School placement) and walking back home.
After an unscheduled trip to the sweetshop...

Apparently, we walked 3.8 miles together today, according to Google Maps.

All in all, a comfortable and steady walk.
But unfortunately, we didn't find any more 20 pound notes on the ground!

Thanks for reading :)

Our first (and quite lucky) 'training' session in pictures...

Milford's Chimney
Hi, thanks for having a look at our progress! We went for our first 'training' session today, which involved us walking from Belper to Milford.

All in all, we managed 5.2 miles today.
Amy and Prim

We took Prim (Amy's dog) with us, who certainly enjoyed the long walk!
Prim having the time of her life running through fields

Amy managed to find a twenty pound note!
With this, she very generously offered to buy us both chips from George's!
(So we must've gained more calories than we'd have lost on that walk!)

Katie just staring at fields...

We bought supplies of crisps and muffins/sweets from the shop in Milford - What a healthy pair we are (!) And to continue the unhealthy theme, we got a lift home from King Street! So we didn't even burn off as much as we'd hoped, due to cutting out the walk from Belper Town Centre to our homes on the outskirts of the town!

(Oh dear!)

In other news, we've only received two donations so far, so if you do feel a bit flush, please send some money our way:

We are serious about this, and we want to raise as much money as we can.

Our target is £150, so far we only have £23.
Even if it's only a donation of a pound, it's still something that we'd be grateful for! :)

Thanks xx

Fundraising Pack...

We received a fundraising pack from Arthritis Research UK today -

We're even going to get special t-shirts!

In other news - Tomorrow marks our first 'training' session.
If walking 3 and a half miles each way to have a pub lunch counts...

So we'll let you know how we get on with that!

Welcome!

Thanks for having a look at this page!

We're Katie and Amy...
Although you probably already guessed that...

We're two 19 year olds from Belper in Derbyshire.

We're organising a sponsored walk later this summer, for Arthritis Research UK.

It'll just be the two of us, and more details will follow soon!

This blog is basically a diary of how our 'training' goes, and also a journal of how our fundraising attempts are going.
Not too well so far...

Our JustGiving Page is:
There are also a few extra details on there that aren't mentioned here...

So we'd be eternally grateful if you could have a look, and if you're feeling rather flush, donate a few pounds to help us out!

You can even text to help us out:
"KBAW82 £..." to 70070
You can donate £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10. Just put how much money you want to donate after the code. :)

Alternatively, you could click on the 'Sponsor Me' widget which is running by the side of this page!

We need all the help and support we can get!

And we promise to keep you all informed about how it's going...

Thanks!
